PURPOSE: To provide a low-moisture cesium raw material having excellent moisture absorption resistance in order to decrease the amt. of the fumes generating at the time of welding in arc welding. ;CONSTITUTION: This low-moisture cesium raw material for a welding material having the excellent moisture absorption resistance consists of chemical component values contg. 1 to 25% cesium (in terms of Cs₂O), ≥1% at least ≥1 kinds of the alkaline metals (in terms of their respective oxides) selected from a group consisting of lithium, sodium, potassium and rubidium, 40 to 50% TiO₂, ≥30% SiO₂ and 2 to 27% total alkaline metal oxide content.
