Cosmetic compositions containing the extracted components from brown sugar

PURPOSE: To obtain the composition containing a specific phenylglucose compound, excellent in the safety, elasticity, water-wrapping property, and skin- activating property for skins, and effective for preventing rough skin troubles such as acnes, stains and itching. ;CONSTITUTION: This composition contains at least one of 3,4- dimethoxyphenyl-4'-O-D-glucose of formula I (Me is methyl) and 2,5- dimethoxyphenyl-4'-O-D-glucose of formula II. The compounds of formulas I and II are obtained, e.g. by allowing an adsorbent such as a non-polar PS adsorbing resin (e.g. SERUVAKUROMU XAD-2) to adsorb dyestuff ingredients in crude sugar, washing out the sugar with water, eluting the adsorb dyestuff ingredients with a low concentration lower alcohol, further eluting the adsorbed dyestuff ingredients with a high concentration lower alcohol, evaporating the solvents, mixing the evaporation reidue with the pore lower alcohol, filtering the mixture, and subsequently recrystallizing the filtrate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
