PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the rigidity of a double sheet pile type harbor civil engineering structure without increasing the board thickness and strength of steel. ;SOLUTION: In the method for constructing the double sheet pile harbor civil engineering structure, a sea bottom ground 1 is improved by means of a sandy soil-based material 2, and sheet piles 5 are driven in two parallel lines into an improved ground 2. Solidification-treated earth 7 is infilled in the space surrounded by the two-line sheet piles 5 to be made a dam body 9. The improved sea bottom ground 2 near a sea bottom surface on the outside of the dam body 9 is replaced or filled with solidification-treated earth 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
