METHOD FOR PRODUCING CULTURE SOIL FOR RAISING SEEDLING AND CULTURE SOIL FOR RAISING SEEDLING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing culture soil for raising seedlings, neither cracking nor collapsing, being readily handleable and being inexpensive and mass-producible and to obtain the culture soil for raising seedlings. SOLUTION: This culture soil 10 for raising seedlings is obtained by packing ground chaff 12 into a nursery box 14 in a chaff packing process 30, then evenly leveling the surface of the chaff 12 in a leveling process 32 and further compacting the chaff under a fixed pressure in a compacting process 34. Consequently, the culture soil 10 for raising seedlings is naturally made into a mat state by entanglement of roots of rice seedlings with raising of the rice seedlings, has flexibility and water retainability like a so-called sponge, neither cracks nor collapses, is readily handleable, inexpensive and mass-producible and can prevent unevenness of height of the rice seedlings and defective growth of roots of the rice seedlings.
