PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably detect the operating position of a cylinder by enclosing a display part constituting circuit, including a light emission element into a translucent mold resin. ;SOLUTION: Since a display part 22 of a magnetic proximity switch 20 is drawn out to the outside of a cylinder main body 10 via a first cord 23, the display state of the display part 22 can be seen well, without being affected by the installation position of the cylinder main body 10. The light emitted from the light emission element is mostly guided to the outside of a case through an opening part 22h of the case to light up the opening part 22h. However, the residual light is diffused in a mold resin filled in the case, guided to the outside of the case from an annular clearance formed between both ends of the case and a first cord 23 and a second cord 24 inserted in both ends, and lights up both end surface of the display part 22 in annular shape. Accordingly, the display state can be confirmed not only from the side of the opening part 22h but also from the whole periphery of the display part 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
