PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for fixing the pedestal part of a rectangular steel pipe column capable of easily and firmly connecting a pedestal part member to a column body member by use of double-sided bolts.;SOLUTION: A column 1 comprises the pedestal part member 5 made of steel of H-shaped cross section wherein adjacent flanges 10, etc., are spaced apart to permit access to the inside, and the column body member 6 made of a rectangular steel pipe. The pedestal member 5 is embedded in foundation concrete 3 with the upper end of the member projecting upwardly therefrom. The upper end of the pedestal member 5 projecting upwardly from the foundation concrete 3 is connected to the lower end of the column body member 6 through the spaces between the flanges 10, etc., of the pedestal member 5 by use of the double-sided bolts 17.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
