PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide appropriate color temperatures by correcting the brightness of each color by a panel structure instead of performing correction of lowering the brightness of the other phosphors to that of one low-brightness phosphor, when a PDP(plasma display panel) is used as an image display device.;SOLUTION: Of a light shielding layer 11 formed in a light-screening row 13 between neighboring electrode pairs 12, the width W2 of a portion situated above a specific second-color phosphor 5 is set up to be smaller than the width W1(=W3) of portions situated above phosphors 6, 4 of other colors. This relatively reduces the shielding amount of light of a second color generated from the second-color phosphor 5 in the vicinity of bus electrodes 8 and increases the emitted amount of light of the same color from a display surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
