A topical patch having non-steroid antirheumatic agent as active substance, consisting of a backing layer inert to the active substance, a self-adhesive, active substance-containing matrix layer based on a polyacrylate adhesive, and a protective film to be removed prior to use, is characterized in thata. the non-steroid antirheumatic agent has a free carboxyl group,b. the active substance-containing matrix of the patch consists of a polyacrylate adhesive cross-linked with multivalent metal ions and having free carboxyl groups, and is free of hydroxyl groups,c. the matrix contains a fatty acid as plasticizer and permeation enhancer, andd. the backing layer consists of a material that is elastic in at least one direction.
