The invention is directed to a sheet-like sandwichmaterial provided with a local reinforcement, comprisinga core material sandwiched between two reinforced toplayers, which core material is a thermoplastic, foamedcore material or a core material having a honeycomb structure,and which top layers consist of a thermoplastic syntheticplastics material reinforced with fibres, preferably inthe form of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric, a fibrousweb, or unidirectionally applied fibres, and at leastone local reinforcement consisting of an amount of plasticmaterial injected under pressure into the core materialthrough one of the top layers, and which plastic materialhas hardened after injection and to a process for providinglocal reinforcement in a sheet-like sandwich material.
