A pattern search/distribution system for allowing a wide spectrum of users to readily search for, read, and purchase any of a variety of patterns for apparel CAD. The system (1) has a server (2) connected to the Internet (5) and a client computer (3) for communicating data with the server (2) over the Internet (5). The server (2) comprises a database unit (21) where patterns for apparel CAD are registered and a processing unit (22) for displaying a pattern registered in the database unit (21) on the client computer (3) in response to a request of the client computer (3) and downloading a desired pattern to the client computer (3) to charge the user. The processing unit (22) additionally registers the pattern for apparel CAD in the database unit (21) when the client computer (3) inputs the pattern.
