The invention relates to a frame for fastening a flat element, in particular a window pane, to an even or curved wall structure, especially a car body wall, which frame consists of profiled parts and cold-join connecting elements for joining said profiled parts. According to the invention, the profiled parts can be placed against the wall structure, which has a given thickness, from an inner side of said wall structure by means of connecting elements shaped to fit the profiled parts. The difference between the thickness of the frame and that of the wall structure directly results in a predefined recessed contact surface for the flat element in relation to the outer wall structure.
