The media time management information describing method is used to describe media time management information for a mutual time relation of six media including associated visual data 1 (204), audio data 1 (206), and thumbnail 1 (208), and associated visual data 2 (205), audio data 2 (207), and thumbnail 2 (209). For these six media, there are described identification information on the media, time type managing the media, information indicating the presence interval of the media managed by employing the time type, a mutual conversion formula or conversion table between the local time and an absolute time common to the above six media as required, and/or a mutual conversion formula or conversion table between the local time and a local time of the other media.
