Atransmittable film having a functional layer which preferably comprises (1) a zeolite and/or an analogue thereto, (2) an inorganic oxide particle, (3) a silicone rubber, a silicone resin or a silicone oil, (4) an organic polymer compound, or (5) carbon, and a porous support; and an electrolytic capacitor having the film. This film exhibits high transmissivity for hydrogen and is much poorly transmittable for steam, gaseous ethylene glycol and gaseous ammonia, and has excellent resistance to heat and chemicals. Also provided are a method for preparing a zeolite film which is suitably used for the above functional layer, an MFI type zeolite film which is an embodiment of the zeolite film, and a method for separating at least one type of molecule from a gaseous or liquid mixture consisting of at least two types of molecule which comprises transmitting the at least one molecule through the aforementioned transmittable film or a MFI type zeolite film.
