The flexible packing has a tear line(3) upon which lies a tear-off stop(4) in the form of a hole partially or completely penetrating the film of the packing, or may be a line of cut running at right angles to the tear line, or a broken line, perforation or weakened line partially penetrating the film so that a tear-off zone propagating along the tear line would be halted upon reaching the tear-off stop. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the manufacture of a packing during or after which a tear-off stop is formed by mechanical or electronic means.
