PURPOSE: A method for saving waiting time in network printers is provided so that a host computer can transmit printed data to a printer having no printing work or the shortest waiting time after checking the work volume of various network printers in order to reduce waiting time. CONSTITUTION: A control unit of a host computer confirms whether a user selects a printing command to print printed data through network printers connected to a network(S401). If the printing command is selected, the control unit detects IP addresses from the information of network printers registered in a memory and transmits a command requesting the transmission of the work volume of printed data on standby at present to the networks through the IP addresses(S402). A control unit for network printers confirms whether the command to confirm the work volume of printed data on standby at present is received from the host computer(S403). If the command is received, the control unit detects the work volume of printed data not printed through network printers yet and stored in the memory and transmits the detected work volume of printed data to the host computer(S404). The host computer checks the work volume of printed data(S405,S406) and confirms whether there is a network printer having no work volume(S407).
