PURPOSE: A character display controlling method for a receiver of a Korean character caption broadcasting is provided to display full-width characters and half-width characters separatively on a screen for preventing the overlapping therebetween, thereby achieving natural display of characters corresponding to caption data. CONSTITUTION: A character display controlling method for a receiver of a Korean character caption broadcasting includes the steps of determining whether a received data is a full-width character control code(1), setting the full-width character control code flag if yes(2), determining whether the full-width character control code flag was set(3), and displaying on a screen a full-width character following the full-character control code if yes(4).
