PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing excessive ions in a developer used for a wet-type electrophotographic printer is provided to eliminate excessive ions contained in the developer to prevent image concentration from deterioration by partially and intermittently transferring a developer into a precipitation tank during operation and applying a current to first and second electrodes after the developer is fully precipitated in the precipitation tank. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for removing excessive ions in a developer used for a wet-type electrophotographic printer includes a precipitation tank(100), a developer transfer means(110), and an excessive ion removal unit(120). The precipitation tank precipitates the developer contained in a developing device(40) at a predetermined time interval. The developer transfer means is arranged between the developing device and the precipitation tank and provides the developer accommodated in the developing device to the precipitation tank at a predetermined time interval or collects the developer contained in the precipitation tank in the developing device. The excessive ion removal unit electrically removes excessive ions in the developer contained in the upper part of the precipitation tank.
