FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining general volume of human urine collected in the period of time from 7 o'clock p.m. to 7 o'clock a. m. The sample is 1:9 diluted with ammonia buffer solution having pH of 9.6. 2 ml of the resulting solution is placed into reduction column being glass tube of 0.9-1.0 mm thickness filled with porous cadmium prepared by applying 2% solution of cadmium sulfate to zinc granules. Porous cadmium formed on the zinc surface as porous film is removed by means of spatula, placed into distilled water, washed, slightly homogenized in porcelain mortar, washing once more with water, 0.1N HCl solution and water. Cadmium suspension is poured into the glass column of 0.9-1.0 mm thickness, time is given for the cadmium column of 13-15 cm height to be formed. 0.1N HCl solution, water and ammonia buffer solution of 9.6 pH washing is carried out. The sample is hold for dripping and washing twice with 10 ml of distilled water and the whole volume of the eluate is brought to 25 ml. Nitrite contents formed from nitrate of the sample is determined by means of Griss method in its passing through the cadmium column. EFFECT: simplified low cost method.
