The pipeline manufacturing method uses a gas- and liquid-tight corrugated metal sleeve (2), with the radially outer corrugations (8) having a smooth cylindrical surface and a larger axial width than the radially inner corrugations. Groups (5,6,7) of adjacent outer corrugations are bunched together by axial compression of the sleeve, so that the corrugation spacing ratio between the original corrugations and the bunched corrugations lies between 2:1 and 10:1.
