The method involves summing the charge flowing in during charging in a first storage device. When a defined charge state is achieved a re-charging quantity is computed and placed in a second storage device. Charging is performed in which the re-charge quantity is drawn using a charge factor assessed from the contents of the first storage device. The re-charging process is terminated when the re-charging quantity is reached and then the content of the first storage device is set to null. The contents of the first storage device is retained if the charging process is terminated early. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
