In color photographic material with light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer(s) and an associated development inhibitor-releasing (DIR) coupler, the DIR coupler (I) has a 1,2,3-triazolyl or a tetrazolyl-5-thio inhibitor group, linked to the coupler directly or by a timing group. In color photographic material with light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer(s) and an associated development inhibitor-releasing (DIR) coupler, the DIR coupler is of formula A11-(TIME)n-INH (I) and has a 1,2,3-triazolyl or a tetrazolyl-5-thio inhibitor group, linked to the coupler directly or by a timing group: A11 = residue of a coupler, which coupler with the oxidation product of a silver halide developer under photographic development conditions and hence releases a group of the formula; INH = 1,2,3-triazolyl (IIA) or a tetrazolyl-5-thio (IIB) group of the formulae; TIME = a linking group released with INH during development, which inhibits release of the INH group under development conditions; R11, R12 = H, alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, S-R13, -COO-R13, -CON(R13)R14, -N(R15)R16, -OR13 or heterocyclyl; at least one of R11, R12 is not H; R13, R14 = alkyl, aryl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R15 = H or R13; R16 = acyl or R13'; R17 = H, alkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; n = 0 or 1; R11R12, R13R14 and R15, R16 = 5-7-membered ring; at least one of R11 or R12 and R17 = alk(en)oxy- or aroxy-alkoxy group of formula R21-(OCmH2m)r-O- (III); R21 = alkyl, aryl or alkenyl; m = 2-4; r = 1-6
