Audio equipment having stereo-analog-digital/digital-analog- converters with 16,18,20 and 24 bit data-packets resolution so that the data of the discrete data sources can be transmitted sequentially in packets so as to hold the cost of the data transmission lines down to an absolute minimum, requires generation of n mutually phase-shifted word clock-signals at the scanning frequency and then dividing one period of the word clock into n time slots (Z1-Zn), where each time slot represents one channel (K1-Kn) for a data source (Q1-Qn).
