A domestic baking oven with a smoke-curing function has a control device (16) for the control of a heating element (6,8) present for the baking process to heat the oven's inner chamber (2) for the generation of a suitable temperature time pattern in the oven's inner chamber for the smoke-curing. The oven is also for the control of a ventilation valve (25) via which the oven's inner chamber is connected to a steam outlet (28) for the oven ventilation. The control device is provided for the automatic generation of a fixed given temperature pattern. The control device is provided for a selectable temperature for a selectable time.
