A wedge shaped guide (5) to control the airflow between carding rollers (3,4) is constructed as a hollow box of fiber reinforced plastic. The nose (9) is a separate component (10) of more wear resistant material. The box has a compressed air connection (11) and a series of air exit holes (12).
