Freely definable action provision method for mask programmed microprocessor, involves storing specified action in electrically erasable and programmable read only memory after interrupting normal program sequence

A break module in electrically erasable and programmable read only memory (EEPROM), generates interrupt signal to interrupt the normal program sequence, to execute background program. The module monitors the program counter which specifies the location of background program in instruction memory and a freely definable action is stored in EEPROM and then program sequence is executed.
