A novel gel (I) comprises an aqueous solution containing (by weight) 0.01-0.3% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), 1-15 wt. % glycerol and 0.2-5% hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC). - ACTIVITY : Antibacterial; virucide; vulnerary. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
