The kit has two or more light emitting modules and contact zone sets about each module with at least two voltage contact zones at different potentials. The zones in each set are arranged along a line perpendicular to the adjacent module edge. Plug connectors along the edge of each module for mechanically and electrically connecting modules each have contacts in a row. Contacts at the same distances from the transverse central plane are bridged. The illumination kit has two or more light emitting modules (10), each with at least one LED (12) and the required electronic drive components and contact zone sets (15,16) about each module with at least two contact zones at different potentials for connecting or tapping a voltage. The zoR nes in each contact zone set are arranged along a line perpendicular to the adjacent edge of the module. Plug connectors arranged along the edge of each module for mechanically and electrically connecting modules each have contacts in a row, whereby the contacts at the same distances from the transverse central plane are bridged.
