The invention relates to a seat, comprising a seat base (2), mounted on a support frame (4), by means of seat mechanisms and a backrest (3), arranged over the rear section of the above, whereby both seat base and/or backrest may be pushed back and forth. A flexible adjustment of the seating surface is thus achieved, whereby the seat base (2) and the backrest (3) may be displaced relative to each other, with the rear section of the seat base (2) able to extend through or beneath the backrest (3), which may be moved backwards.
