In a transparent medium containing multilayer pigments (I) based on a flaky substrate with angle-selective reflection or transmission and/or absorption properties, the ratio of the degree of solar transmission in summer (angle of incidence of solar radiation 55-70 deg ) to that in winter (angle of incidence of solar radiation 5-20 deg ) is in the 10-60% range. An Independent claim is also included for a transparent heat storage system, comprising colored absorber layers in combination with angle-selective shading glass layers coated with the transparent medium.
