Closure jaws (9, 10) move along the working gap (5) in the direction of sausage strand (2) motion. Preferred Features: Opposed pairs of closure jaws follow successively along the strand path, at set spacing. The working gap (5) is formed between two conveyors (7, 8), each carrying closure jaws. The conveyors are recirculating e.g. chains, bands or belts. A separator is provided for the sausages.
