The method for determining the maximum torque which can be safely delivered by the engine of a vehicle traversing a curve is based essentially upon wheels-peed and engine rpm measurements. The transverse acceleration (aq) is derived from the rpm (n3 n3) of the non-driven wheels and their track-width (b) whilst the effect of the transmission ratio (iq) is established via the engine rpm (nmot) and the rpms (n1 n2) of the driven wheel.A speed-dependent factor (K) specific to the vehicle and empirically established completes the necessary parameters from which a negative increment (R) is evaluated for torque limitation from maximum (Tm) to acceptable (T2) via throttle control (st).
