A method of producing a taxane-type diterpene wherein cells and/or tissue of a plant which produces a taxane-type diterpene is cultured in the presence of at least one substance selected from a coronatine, a bacterium which produces the coronatine, a culture solution or a culture extract of said bacterium, a cyclic polysaccaride, a fatty acid compound, and a compound of formula (X) or (XI): CHEM and the taxane-type diterpene is recovered from the resulting culture.
