PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen refill for a writing utensil which is safe and does not take time and further, is less costly with a beautiful appearance, with regard to the modification of the wettability of ink of the pen refill for a writing utensil as well as a writing utensil using this pen refill. SOLUTION: This pen refill for a writing utensil is formed of a thermoplastic resin containing a resin with an N-phenylmaleimide structure in a copolymer skeleton as a material for the pen refill. Also the writing utensil using this pen refill is provided.
