PURPOSE: To shorten the time at the time of executing self-imposed check and grade decision by providing the above device with a grade deciding means for deciding grades by receiving the whole grains properly screened out of a secondary sample detecting means and executing the grade decision in parallel with the grain screening treatment of primary samples. ;CONSTITUTION: A changeover chute 11 is changed over to supply hulled grains to either of grain screening cylinders 9, whichever is empty, by which the hulled grains are supplied into the grain screening cylinder 9. The whole grains and screenings are thereafter eventually separated and screened by forward rotation of the grain screening cylinder and the grade decision is executed in parallel therewith. Namely, the changeover chute 11 is reset to a neutral position by timing the supply of the hulled grains to the grain screening cylinder 9 and opening/closing shutters 17 and 19 are changed over respectively to allow the whole grain in a whole grain receiving section 16 to flow down through a supply thrower 5, the changeover chute 11 and a return passage 13 as secondary samples into a guide passage 18 for the second samples opened at an inlet.
