PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain accurate data and avoid occurrence of fluctuation of detected values by feeding to a quality meter part of sample grains discharged after detection of taste for detection of quality. ;SOLUTION: Part of grains roughly sorted by a rough sorting machine 10 after reception of the grains are extracted as sample grains, and part of the extracted sample grains are fed to a self-inspection device 18 and the remains of the sample grains are fed to a taste tester 27. The part of the sample grains fed to the self-inspection device 18 are dried and hulled and sorted into whole grains and empty grains and ratio of inclusion of the selected whole grains and the ratio of the inclusion thus calculated is printed. The remaining sample grains are dried and hulled, and the whole grains are sorted from the empty grains and the sorted whole grains are fed to the taste tester 27 to make a detection of taste. Part of the whole grains discharged after the detection of taste are fed to a quality meter 29 for detection of quality such as crack and coloring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
