Suicide gene therapy system for brain tumor treatment

In a suicide gene therapy system, a DNA molecule encoding a glycosidase is applied with a non-toxic cyanogenic glycoside substrate, which upon degradation by the glycosidase yields hydrogen cyanide, for the treatment of brain tumours in animals or humans. The DNA preferably encodes linamarase, the substrate is preferably linamarin. The two interacting components are administered separately. IMAGE
