PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for improving ground which can be repeatedly used for a short construction period by utilizing an interval between the passages of trains so that the construction period can be shortened. ;SOLUTION: The ground improving device 10 is provided to improve the track bed 22 of a track 12. The device 10 includes a mixing, agitating machine 14 which excavates the track bed 22 and feeds improvement material to the track bed 22 to mix it into the bed 22, a work frame 16 which is disposed in the width direction of the track 12 and carries the machine 14 so that the machine can move in the width direction of the track 12 and which can move along the track 12, and a recess 18 disposed outside a train clearance 52 adjacent to the track 12.
