PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional splitter/recombiner component which can reduce the size of a projector. SOLUTION: The optical path of the reflecting liquid crystal projector consists of incident light and three dichroic cubes. A first dichroic cube includes a first coating with a normal vector of (1, 0, 1). The first coating splits the incident light in two directions, namely, a direction in which red light and blue light are reflected, and a direction in which green light is transmitted. A second dichroic cube includes a second coating with a normal vector of (1, 1, 0). In the second dichroic cube, the red light is reflected to a red liquid crystal display(LCD) panel, the blue light is transmitted to reach a blue LCD panel. A third dichroic cube includes a third coating with a normal vector of (1, 0, 1). In the third dichroic cube, the green light is transmitted to reach a green LCD panel.
