PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding pass-fail of packet reception of a plurality of LAN participating equipments, for rapidly deciding whether the equipments, having a plurality of equipment identifiers and a plurality of LAN identifiers respectively corresponding to the plurality of equipment identifiers, receive the packet or not, in the plurality of LANs by participating to the plurality of LANs in a calculating time not depending upon the number of the LANs.;SOLUTION: The method for deciding pass-fail of packet reception of the plurality of LAN participating equipments comprises a first function step of obtaining a first functional value from the equipment identifier of a destination address of the packet of the LAN, a first decision step of deciding whether the result of the first function belongs to a plurality of predetermined values or not, a second function step of obtaining a second functional value from the first functional value if the result of the first decision step is true, and a second decision step of deciding whether the result of the second functional step coincides with the LAN identifier of the destination address of the packet of the LAN or not.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
