PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CO2 fixation device from an exhaust gas and a method for fixing CO2 capable of improving the CO2 fixation ratio and rendering an equipment cost of the device and a treatment cost of the exhaust gas to be less expensive by appropriately conducting the mixing and the reaction of a large amount of CO2 in the exhaust gas and a neutralizer. SOLUTION: A tank main body 1 of the CO2 fixation device A is formed in a rectangular and oblong duct-like form with inclination having the one end side inclined high and the other end side inclined low, wherein the inside has such a structure that a sprinkling tank, a dissolving tank and a neutralizing tank are sectionally compartmented in an upper step, a mid step and a lower step respectively by the upper and lower partition boards 2, 3 with penetrated holes. A treated water from the water source is supplied to the sprinkling tank by a water supply pump 7. An exhaust gas from a combustion device 8 is introduced to the dissolving tank. A neutralizing agent is supplied onto a mixing gutter via a neutralizing supply pipe 11. The treated water, which is sprinkled on the upper part within the dissolving tank via the sprinkling tank, is brought into vapor-liquid contact with the exhaust gas passing through the dissolving tank to absorb and dissolve CO2 therein to form a CO2 aqueous solution. The resultant is added to a neutralizing agent layer on the mixing gutter of the neutralizing tank and is caused to react with the neutralizing agent and then, CO2 is neutralized and fixed.
