PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel adhesion-preventing agent which can lower the adhesiveness of styrene resin obtained by treating foamed polystyrene in a jelly-like or gel-like state, eliminate the adhesiveness and stickiness of the styrene resin, improve workability and handleability, save energy, and enable the simple recovery treatment and the like of the styrene resin, to provide a solvent which uses the gel adhesion-preventing agent and is used for treating the foamed polystyrene, and to provide a method for treating the foamed polystyrene with the gel adhesion-preventing agent. SOLUTION: This gel adhesion-preventing agent comprising a gel adhesion- preventing compound (for example, octanol) for lowering the adhesiveness of the styrene resin obtained by treating the foamed polystyrene in the jelly-like or gel-like state, characterized in that the compound has at least one functional group having an inorganic value of =65 in an organic conception diagram in the molecule.
