ARC GUIDE DEVICE IN THE AREA OF GRIPPER SYSTEMS OF A PRINTING MACHINE

The locating stops (2) for the paper grips which pick up the paper for transfer to the print process are improved by incorporating air jets which provide an air cushion through blowing parallel under the leading edge of the paper (1). This positions the paper in the optimum pick up position irrespective of the weight of the paper. The air feed is selected to either the maximum or minimum format for the paper. The air jets are positioned just under the tips of the stops, and hence just under the feed surface of the paper.
