Procedure regioselective preparation of a derivative monosulfoniliado in C-6 of a cyclodextrin, which is reacted said cyclodextrin with a sulfonylating agent in an aqueous alkaline solution in the presence of a metal salt capable of forming a complex coordination with the secondary hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin, and at the end of the reaction said derivative monosulfonylated at C-6 of the cyclodextrin from the reaction mixture is recovered.
