Electric Exploding Bridge Wire InitiatorsAn exploding bridge wire (EBW) initiator assembly isprovided which is particularly adapted for the initiation ofan attached length of low energy shock wave conductor. TheEBW comprises a hollow tube having an exploding bridge wirein one end of the tube, which directly initiates a length ofshock wave conductor inserted into the opposite end of thetube. The entire assembly may be housed within a protectiveenclosure adapted for snap-fit connection kith a source ofelectrical energy. The initiator can be initiated byrelatively low voltage power supplies and is significantlysafer than conventional EBW initiators.
