- system to measure physical parameters such as the absolute permeability of porous rocks in an area of a subterranean reservoir.from the fragments collected in this area, such as rock back in the mud of a forag.the chips are immersed in a viscous fluid contained in a chamber.the first pumping means inject fluid in the chamber under pressure with time, up to a threshold of pressure is defined.in such a way as to compress the gas trapped in the pores of the rock. the injection phase is followed by a relaxation time of the injection.the variation of pressio n measured by sensors during these two phases is recorded by a computer.the evolution of the pressure during the injection process has been modelled.starting from initial values selected for the physical parameters of the fragments.the controller adjusts iteratively to match to the modeled pressure curve with the actual measured pressure curve application to petrophysical measurements.
