Electric supply to the water heater is controlled by an electronic unit using fuzzy logic to allow it to adapt to variable off-peak periods within a country, both in terms of number of periods and actual times. The off-peak periods are automatically detected, and the temperature gradient determined as a basis for determining optimum connection times.
