Measuring device for detecting the cooling effectiveness of a refrigerated display cabinet

Measurement arrangement for determining the cooling effect of a supermarket or shop freezer that has cooling air circulation in front of it to prevent the ingress of warm air. Arrangement comprises a measurement packet, means for heating the packet and a sensor arranged within the packet. Independent claims are made for two methods for determining the cooling effect of cool circulating air in shop chest type freezers. In both methods the packet is heated to a certain temperature, around human body temperature, and then arranged in the cooling stream. In the first method the same heating power is supplied to the packet as initially and a constant average temperature measured that is less than the initial temperature. In the second method extra heat is supplied until it regains its initial temperature after being placed in the cooling air stream. In the first method an average temperature difference is determined and in the second the extra power required is determined.
