PURPOSE: A CCCP handoff method in a 3-way handoff area is provided to obtain a CCCP handoff method by allowing a terminal to receive a signal coded in two different code patterns in a handoff area by allocating different code patterns only to two base station having a strong pilot signal and receiving a signal when a mobile terminal is moved into a 3-way handoff area. CONSTITUTION: A terminal measures a strength of pilot signals received from a plurality of base stations(501). The terminal determines whether the strength of the pilot signal received from the base station is above a specific value(502). If the pilot signal is above a specific value, the terminal assigns a new code pattern to the base station and receives a signal from the station(503). It is determined whether the terminal is in a 3-way handoff area(504). If the terminal is determined to be in the 3-way area, the terminal assigns different code patterns to two base stations having strong pilot signal among signals received from three base stations to set them in an active state, and receives signals from the base stations in the active state(505). In a state that the terminal receives signals from the two base station in the active state having strong pilot signals in the 3-way handoff area, it is checked whether the order of the strength of the pilot signals of every base station in the 3-way handoff area has been changed(506). Two base stations having strong pilot signals are set to be in an active state and signals are received therefrom(507).
