A DSL SUBSCRIBER DEVICE OF INTERFACE FOR ATM SWITCH

PURPOSE: A DSL(Digital Subscriber Line) subscriber interface unit in an ATM exchange is provided so as to accept a maximum of 1024 ADSL subscriber lines using one Mux/Demux. CONSTITUTION: A DSL subscriber interface unit consists of ASPAs(ADSL Subscriber Physical layer board Assemblies)(30), link_Ss(60), a link_M(50), and a Mux/Demux(20). Each ASPA(30), accepting a plurality of DSL subscriber lines, separates or mixes a voice signal and a data signal by DSL protocol processing. Each link_S(60) consists of a receiving interface part, a header conversion part, a transmitting part, a receiving part, a header creation part, and a transmitting interface part. The link_M(50) consists of a plurality of receiving parts, a multiplexing part, a transmitting interface part, a receiving interface part, a demultiplexing part, and a plurality of transmitting parts. The Mux/Demux(20) multiplexes the signals inputted through a cell bus(80) from the ASPAs(30) and the link_M(50) and outputs them to an IMI(Inter Module Interface) cable. Also the Mux/Demux(20) demultiplexes the signals supplied from the IMI cable and supplies them to the cell bus(80) so that the demultiplexed signals can be outputted to the ASPAs(30) and the link_M(50) respectively.
