A method and apparatus for storing information in a processing device with flexible security is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method stores information in a processing device. The method includes receiving a download via a first input path comprising a first blockable link and storing the download in a processing device. At some point, the key is also stored in the processing unit. The ciphertext download is received via the second input path including the second blockable link. The ciphertext download is decrypted using the key and the final plaintext download is stored in the processing unit.
